In fact, a study reveals, 93% of Americans consider important to be in control of who can get information about them.Data encryption is now in the public’s mind as a way to protect their information. The third international conference on "Updating Quantum Cryptography and Communications" organized by NICT, IPA and AIST will be held on October 18-20, 2010, at the ANA Inter Continental Hotel in Tokyo. The scope of the conference is to present latest advancement of quantum cryptography and communications, and to discuss fundamental and practical issues in realizing quantum networking. In a recent article we talked about 10 startups that are working on various aspects of quantum computing and promised our lovely readers a follow-up article on 5 quantum cryptography and quantum encryption companies.

A preliminary version of this paper was presented at Eurocrypt '90, May 21–24, Århus, Denmark, and has appeared in the proceedings, pp. François Bessette was supported in part by an NSERC Postgraduate Scholarship.Similar to symmetric cryptography, the smallest change in any of the two keys will make them useless to get the original data.A benefit of asymmetric cryptography is that you can share the public key with the whole world so that they can use it to send you encrypted data.Gilles Brassard was supported in part by Canada's NSERC.This work was performed while John Smolin was visiting IBM Research.
